If you have make any purchase of coffee makers these few years, you would know that the current flavor of the month when it comes to espresso makers is the single cup coffee brewer.
In fact, this does not apply only to espresso makers but any coffee maker as well. Consumers simply like the ease of use and maintenance of these single cup coffee machines.
So,beats by dre solo, many traditional coffee maker and espresso maker manufacturer are joining in the fray by producing their own single serve solution. I was not the least surprise when illy a very respectable espresso maker company launched their own single cup machine.
They call it iperespresso and it comes with its own capsules. Although, marketed as a single serve coffee maker, the fact is this machine has more strappings than a normal single serve.
Sure, you can all the things that a single serve does like insert the capsule and press a button for a hot espresso. But, it also have a thermoblock to ensure that you get good froth for your cappuccino and of course there is a frothing device to make cappuccino and latte.
Then, like a normal espresso machine, it also has its own decalcification program. These are features you would not see in most single cup coffee maker.
But, I am not surprised with all these features, because it is the way illy does things, always over delivering. Do you know that their metal containers that keep those coffee grounds can keep it fresh for up to 3 years.
If these folks can put in so much effort into a simple coffee storage soluton, what more a coffee brewing device right?
Anyway, the comprehensive features of this machine is one thing, it is the price that amazes me. After telling you all these features, you would expect this machine to retail for at least $300.
The truth is, it has a retail price of $450, but illy is offering it to consumers at $150 if they joined their membership program which woukd deliver coffee to their homes every month.
It is a good deal, in fact, you can even sign up and quit with no penalty charges.
Illy decided to enter the single serve coffee market, and they are entering in a big way, the result is you and I would enjoy better products at a cheaper rate!
